CHEA To Host 2025 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellow Daphne Oevi-Artango as Fulbright Exchange Student

Daphne Oevi-ArtangoWashington, D.C. – The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) announced today that Daphne Oevi-Artango, a visiting scholar at Pennsylvania State University, was selected to serve as a Fulbright Exchange Student for the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program in 2024-2025.

Oevi-Artango is an academic and quality assurance manager at Pacific Adventist University in Papua, New Guinea (PNG). Daphne has been recognized for her dedication to enhancing educational standards and fostering academic excellence. Daphne has a notable career in the field of educational administration. In 2024, Daphne was awarded the prestigious Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship, funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Daphne as a Humphrey Fellow,” said CHEA Vice President for Recognition Services Loretta Waldron. “CHEA offers an exceptional platform for Daphne to deepen her expertise in quality assurance and accreditation and the recognition processes, while also engaging in strategic policy development, nonprofit governance, communications, finance, and government affairs. We look forward to the impact she will make.”

Oevi-Artango said, “One of my focus areas, which I am enriching myself in through the Fellowship, are quality assurance (QA) and accreditation. QA is a new concept in the higher education sector in PNG.” Daphne added, “I believe that was one of the reasons why I was selected for the prestigious Humphrey program, as QA and accreditation is a niche skill set, and the U.S. Embassy in PNG desired to build capacity in this area.”
