2024 CHEA/CIQG Annual Conference: Call for Proposals
CHEA’s “Call for Proposals” provides opportunities for large and small group engagement from a variety of stakeholders to discuss relevant and current topics that address quality assurance from national and global perspectives. CHEA/CIQG encourages open dialog regarding critical issues and welcomes diversity of experiences, exchanges, and interactions between attendees. The January 29 - February 1 conference will feature sessions addressing a range of topics related to accreditation and quality assurance. We are seeking proposals for plenary and concurrent sessions.
Criteria for sessions:
- Two to three presenters for plenary session; one to two presenters for concurrent session
- Sixty to seventy-five (60-75) minutes including time for questions and participation from the audience
- No commercial advertising
- Presentations should be designed to offer a variety of perspectives on the topic
- All topics must be relevant to higher education quality assurance. Topics may identify contextually external or internal factors that impact quality assurance, accreditation and are currently influencing institutional or program academic quality.
International submissions: In addition to the criteria above, please adhere to the following criteria:
- Begin notification early to CHEA of your requirements for attending and participation as a Conference presenter. If a letter of invitation is needed, please notify CHEA before or by November 1, 2023. Request for letters of invitation may not be considered after November 1, 2023.
- If your proposal has multiple presenters, please identify the LEAD contact for correspondence with CHEA.
- If there is a change in plans after notification of proposal acceptance, notification should be sent immediately to Joel Espinoza at [email protected].
The proposal process is competitive. Proposals will be reviewed by CHEA staff and notification of selected proposals will be sent by October 16th.
Suggested topics of interest include, but not limited to:
- Artificial intelligence and higher education institutional norms
- Designing student learning outcomes for relevance to course completion and degree attainment
- Partnerships that support quality assurance
- Institutional climate culture as a catalyst for innovation
- Political agendas that influence higher education, institutional autonomy and academic freedom
- Attrition of higher education leadership and impact on institutional quality
- Technology innovations for data management
- Innovations beyond technology
- Gainful employment and its impact on program development
- Responsive leadership and the development of a culture of institutional quality
- Other
Proposals for sessions should be submitted to CHEA no later than September 25, 2023. Proposals will only be reviewed if submitted on the proposal form. The call for proposals is open to all. The topics are thematic. If you wish to present different topic areas that are germane to quality assurance, higher education and student success and accreditation, please do so. The suggested themes have world-wide perspectives and global attendees are encouraged to submit proposals.
