Message on Ukraine

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG)  express our profound concern and support for the citizens of Ukraine. The ongoing violence and destructive invasion of a sovereign country is the antithesis of the core values of dignity and respect for mankind and peaceful co-existence. The autonomy of Ukraine is important to CHEA/CIQG and represents the tenets of independence and right to live freely and justly.  

The assurance of quality higher education with free and independent liberties is important to CHEA, both in the United States and internationally. The quality and autonomy of higher education cannot be assured in the face of continued warfare. We urge the discontinuance of this violent conflict  and that all parties work in solidarity to restore a peaceful Ukraine, to the benefit of the country and the world.
