The National Council on Education (CNE)

The attributions of the Council are normative, deliberative and advisory to the Minister of State of Education, in the performance of the functions and attributions of the federal public power in matters of education, being responsible for formulating and evaluating the national education policy, ensuring the quality of education, ensuring the compliance with the educational legislation and ensuring the participation of society in the improvement of Brazilian education.
