VLIR was established in 1976 as an institution of public interest. The VLIR is an autonomous consultative body, financed by the universities.The aim of the VLIR is to promote dialogue and cooperation between Flemish universities. Within the VLIR, the university representatives prepare common positions in a series of domains related to the basic tasks, being: education, research, service provision.

CHEA's Mission
