CHEA/CIQG 2026 Annual Conference Call for Proposals
CHEA’s “Call for Proposals” provides opportunities for large and small group engagement from a variety of stakeholders to discuss relevant and current topics that address quality assurance from national and global perspectives. CHEA/CIQG encourages open dialog regarding critical issues and welcomes diversity of experiences, exchanges, and interactions between attendees. The January 26–29, 2026 conference will feature sessions addressing various topics related to accreditation and quality assurance. We are seeking proposals for plenary and concurrent sessions.
Criteria for sessions:
- Two to three presenters for the plenary session; one to two presenters for the concurrent session
- Sixty (60) minutes, including time for questions and participation from the audience
- No commercial advertising
- Presentations should be designed to offer a variety of perspectives on the topic
- All topics must be relevant to higher education quality assurance. Topics may identify contextually external or internal factors that impact quality assurance, accreditation, and currently influence institutional or program academic quality.
International submissions: In addition to the criteria above, please adhere to the following criteria:
- Begin notifying CHEA early of your requirements for attending and participation as a Conference presenter. If a letter of invitation is needed, please notify CHEA before or by November 7, 2025. Requests for invitation letters may not be considered after November 7, 2025.
- If your proposal has multiple presenters, please identify the LEAD contact for correspondence with CHEA.
- If plans change after the notification of proposal acceptance, notify Joel Espinoza immediately at [email protected].
The proposal process is competitive. Proposals will be reviewed, and notification of selected proposals will be sent by October 20th.
Suggested topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Artificial intelligence and higher education institutional norms
- Designing student learning outcomes for relevance to course completion and degree attainment
- Partnerships that promote quality assurance
- Institutional climate culture as a catalyst for innovation
- Intersection of politics and institutional quality assurance/student success
- The relationship between unique institutional culture and quality assurance/student success
- Student impact on institutional culture and quality assurance/student success
- Ethical and responsive leadership amid external pressures
- Upholding quality and academic standards amid external pressures
- Using transparency and student success data not just for compliance, but for continuous improvement
- Embracing innovation responsibly, without compromising rigor
- Fostering ethical leadership and collaboration in a dynamic environment
- Collecting and using institutional data for a holistic approach to continuous quality improvement
- The evolving role of accreditors in national and global regulatory environments
- Accreditation’s role in promoting equitable student outcomes
The selected proposals will demonstrate relevance or a relationship to quality assurance, accreditation, or student success.
Session proposals should be submitted to CHEA using the official proposal form by September 15, 2025. Proposals will only be reviewed if submitted on the proposal form. The call for proposals is open to all.
The themes are provided to inspire proposals but are not exhaustive. You are welcome to present different topics related to quality assurance, higher education, student success, and accreditation. The suggested themes reflect global perspectives, and submissions from international participants are strongly encouraged.
