2023 CHEA/CIQG Annual Conference: Call for Proposals

The 2023 Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)/CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) Annual Conference will be held January 23-26 at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington, DC. The event will be in-person and will bring together approximately 400 attendees from across the United States and around the world. This annual event focuses on higher education accreditation and quality assurance and attracts participants from colleges and universities, accrediting organizations, higher education associations, government, and media.

The theme for the 2023 CHEA/CIQG Annual Conference is Maintaining and Improving Quality Assurance: Today and Tomorrow. There is a renewed interest and revitalization occurring in higher education and new ways of thinking and doing are being challenged socially, politically and with a great deal of public scrutiny.  Accreditation and quality assurance have brought forth meaningful discourse among national and international academicians, accrediting organizations and change agents who are committed to academic excellence and student success!   The 2023 CHEA Annual Conference acknowledges that there is not one solution to the myriad of higher education complexities, but many perspectives are needed in order to maintain and continuously improve quality.  CHEA seeks honest and open discussions on critical issues with the goal of student success as the ultimate outcome.

CHEA’s call for proposals will provide opportunities for large and small group engagement from a variety of stakeholders to discuss relevant and current topics that address quality assurance from national and global perspectives. CHEA/CIQG encourages open dialog regarding critical issues and welcomes diversity of experiences, exchanges, and interactions between attendees. January 24-26 will feature sessions addressing a range of topics related to accreditation and quality assurance. We are seeking proposals for these plenary and concurrent sessions.

Guidelines for sessions:

  • One to four presenters, including a moderator
  • Sixty to seventy-five (60-75) minutes including time for questions and participation from the audience
  • No commercial advertising
  • Designed to present a variety of perspectives on the topic
