Hanifa Darwish is Manager of Accreditation and Quality Assurance Engagement at the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). In this role, she leads high-impact initiatives at the forefront of accreditation, academic quality, and institutional effectiveness, working across national and global higher education systems. She engages with accrediting bodies, institutional leaders, policymakers, and international partners to strengthen collaboration, advance quality assurance practices, and shape emerging approaches to accountability and innovation in higher education.

Her work supports CHEA’s strategic priorities through thought leadership, policy engagement, and convening, contributing to critical dialogue on the future of higher education in a rapidly evolving global landscape. She plays a key role in connecting expertise across sectors and regions, elevating shared learning and informed practice in accreditation and quality assurance.

Hanifa brings experience in education policy, research, and institutional strategy across academic and nonprofit contexts. She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Trinity College.
