CHEA Membership Benefits

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) is a nonprofit organization of degree-granting colleges and universities that advances academic quality through accreditation. CHEA also recognizes institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations that meet rigorous standards for quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

For more than 25 years, CHEA has served as a national voice for accreditation, supporting institutions in maintaining strong, peer-driven systems of quality assurance while advocating for institutional autonomy and academic integrity. Membership in CHEA connects institutions and leaders to a community committed to academic quality, while providing opportunities to stay informed, contribute to national and global conversations, and engage with peers on issues of quality assurance and accreditation.
