Spain’s IE Makes Major Expansion into The U.S. (Yahoo Finance, July 31, 2024) Spain’s IE University, home to one of Europe’s leading business schools, announced the acquisition of a school in New York City with the intention of remaking it into a business- and sustainability-focused college. It will be renamed IE New York College once the school achieves its accreditation

New Rules Open the Way for Rise in Number of Norway Universities (University World News, July 24, 2024) In 2002, Norway had four universities, six scientific university colleges, 26 regional university colleges, and two art colleges. In addition, 17 private colleges were accredited. New regulations for institutional accreditation are expected to go into effect on January 1,  2025.

APU Becomes First Malaysian University with QAA UK Accreditation (The Star, June 8, 2024) Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation has become the first and only Malaysian university to receive accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in the UK. As a result of the accreditation, APU will now be recognized on an equal basis with UK universities.
