MESTI have the responsibilities to develop policies, draft and implement legislation for the development of education, including higher education, and science in Kosovo, promoting a non-discriminatory educational system thus improving the quality, relevance and efficiency of education at all levels and  facilitating the development and qualitative improvement of the education system and the efficient delivery of educational services,  while promoting research related to the social, economic, scientific, technological and cultural development of Kosovo.
