Established in 2013, the Higher Education Authority of Zambia is the government agency responsible for setting, promoting and ensuring quality assurance and standards offered by higher education institutions in Zambia. The Higher Education Authority is also responsible for registering private Universities in Zambia.

CHEA's Mission

Council for Higher Education Accreditation serves its members, students, and society through advocacy for the value and

independence of accreditation, recognition of accrediting organizations and commitment to quality in higher education.
