CACEI is a non-profit civil association. Its primary objective is to promote quality education for engineering students through the accreditation of educational programs in the field of engineering. CACEI has been operating since July 1994. It is the first accrediting body for undergraduate degree programs established in Mexico. It is a signatory (full member) of the Washington Accord (WA), which is part of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA).

independence of accreditation, recognition of accrediting organizations and commitment to quality in higher education.
