The Council of Rectors of Latvia is a collegial consultative institution, uniting rectors of all state-accredited higher education institutions. It was established in 1995 to coordinate the cooperation of the higher education institutions, to represent the higher education institutions in Latvia and abroad, as well as to participate actively within the development of the higher education and science sector.

CHEA's Mission

Council for Higher Education Accreditation serves its members, students, and society through advocacy for the value and

independence of accreditation, recognition of accrediting organizations and commitment to quality in higher education.
