The Council for Higher Education Accreditation Announces Five Higher Education Leaders Join its Board of Directors

(Washington, D.C.) —WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) announced today that Michael A. Baston, J.D., Ed.D., President, Cuyahoga Community College; Erica Holmes, Ed.D., President, Sisseton Wahpeton College; Madeline Burillo-Hopkins, Ed.D., President, Dallas College Brookhaven Campus; Lily S. Hsu, Ed.D., President, Labouré College of Healthcare; and, Patricia Marshall, Ph.D., Provost and Executive Vice President, Fitchburg State University were elected to CHEA’s Board of Directors.
“This time is an important moment in higher education accreditation and institutional advancement. During this critical juncture, the CHEA Board welcomes the insightful vision and extensive institutional experience brought to it from Dr. Baston, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Burillo-Hopkins, Dr. Hsu, and Dr. Marshall, ” said CHEA Board Chair F. Javier Cevallos, Ph.D., President of the American Academic Leadership Institute. “The strong backgrounds and impressive leadership in higher education will significantly contribute to CHEA’s mission and the broader higher education accreditation community’s goals.”
During its recent Board of Directors meeting, Dr. Baston, Dr. Holmes, Dr. Burillo-Hopkins, Dr. Hsu, and Dr. Marshall were elected to three-year terms beginning July 1, 2025.
Michael A. Baston, J.D., Ed.D., is President of Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio.
Erica Holmes, Ed.D., is President of Sisseton Wahpeton College in Agency Village, South Dakota.
Madeline Burillo-Hopkins, Ed.D., is President of Brookhaven Campus at Dallas Community College in Farmers Branch, Texas.
Lily S. Hsu, Ed.D., is President of Labouré College of Healthcare in Milton, Massachusetts.
Patricia Marshall, Ph.D., is Provost and Executive Vice President of Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
