POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING

COUNCIL FOR HIGHER EDUCATION ACCREDITATION/ INTERNATIONAL QUALITY GROUP

The Council for Higher Education Accreditation/International Quality Group (CHEA/CIQG), a private nonprofit national association based in Washington, DC, seeks candidates for the position of Director of Marketing. CHEA/CIQG provides coordination of accreditation throughout the United States as well as focusing on quality assurance internationally. CHEA also serves as an advocate to enhance academic quality in higher education through accreditation and quality assurance. It is an institutional membership organization of degree-granting colleges and universities and recognizes U.S. institutional and programmatic accrediting organizations.

Responsibilities: Reporting to the CHEA Vice President for Government Affairs, the Director of Marketing will develop, implement and monitor a marketing plan for recruitment and retention of CHEA institutional members with the primary goal of expanding this membership. The Director is additionally responsible for efforts to expand attendance at the CHEA Annual Conference and the CIQG Annual Meeting. Responsibilities also include working with all CHEA staff to enhance visibility and strengthen the CHEA brand. Success in the position will be judged primarily on effectiveness in expanding institutional membership.

Qualifications: Applicants are to have at least an earned baccalaureate degree and significant experience and a thorough understanding of the marketing and membership development of small nonprofit organizations, preferably in higher education. Ongoing attention to detail and follow-up as well as a commitment to energetic and engaged management are key to successful performance in the position.
