CIQG 2019 Annual Meeting: A Global Quality Forum

CHEA INTERNATIONAL QUALITY GROUP:

A GLOBAL QUALITY FORUM

2019 ANNUAL MEETING

QUALITY ASSURANCE and SUSTAINING TRUST IN HIGHER EDUCATION

(AS OF 11/9/18)

PROGRAM SUBJECT TO CHANGE

With significant and unprecedented societal upheavals around the world, whether migration flows, geo-political developments and changes, growing unemployment, extremism, digitization and corruption, there are increasing signs of erosion of trust in higher education and quality assurance

New developmental goals and regional frameworks are calling for greater social responsibility from higher education institutions to counter inequalities. Some progress has been made in a number of countries, even as some critics claim an elitist approach still prevails as the academic community continues its quest for excellence.

This year’s annual meeting will attempt to address these issues, in particular how do higher education needs change and quality assurance adapt in order to sustain trust.
