Officers and Members-at-Large Elected for
CHEA Executive Committee

(Washington, DC) – At the Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), held April 27-28 in Washington, D.C., the board voted to elect officers and members-at-large for CHEA’s Executive Committee.

The following individuals were elected to serve as officers for 2009-2010:


John D. Wiley, Chancellor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Vice Chair:

William E. Kirwan, Chancellor, The University System of Maryland


Scott S. Cowen, President, Tulane University


Charles Larson, Chair, ViaGlobal Group

Elected to serve as members-at-large of the executive committee for 2009-2010 were:

Caesar Andrews, Public Board Member
Karen W. Morse, President Emeritus, Western Washington University

"We thank all of these individuals for their service as officers and members-at-large of CHEA’s Executive Committee," said CHEA President Judith Eaton. "We are deeply appreciative of the time and effort they expend on behalf of CHEA and its advocacy of higher education accreditation."

The CHEA Board of Directors is composed of chief executive officers from degree-granting institutions, joined by other institutional representatives and public members. The board and executive committee meet three times each year.
