Report Roll Call (Politico "Morning Education," March 29, 2017) “A new report from the Center for American Progress finds that many college accreditors lack the budget and staffing to properly oversee colleges and universities that collectively access billions of dollars in federal student aid as a result of their stamp of approval. Read more."

Time to Reform Higher Education Financing and Accreditation (Heritage Foundation, March 28, 2017) “As Congress considers reauthorization of the Higher Education Act, it should consider policies to decouple federal financing from accreditation.”

More Fallout from ACICS Loss of Recognition - SEVP Removes Grace Period (CooleyED, March 28, 2017) “Reversing its earlier position, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) has announced that schools accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) will not have 18-months to obtain accreditation from another accreditor recognized by the US Department of Education to maintain SEVP certification.”
